Anonymous Freedom

Column


This invention is a device, system and network-call center for the purpose of collecting weapons recycling specifically pistols and rifles from individuals in an anonymous method and in exchange for a reward. It was designed specifically to automate the highly successful anonymous gun buy-back programs used for decades by several law enforcement agencies.


The unit is a ruggedized Kiosk-style system incorporating various technologies to verify, identify, securely collect and reward the participant for the recycle. The unit is set in a steel reinforced concrete pad. Below unit is the steel vault with addition security. The User interface unit and the vault are one unit and removal is accomplished with special locking devices for weapon removal, maintenance and upgrades.


The unit being controlled via SPC style computers will identify weapon via object recognition to a known local data base. Weapons will be verified with various sensors to determine weight, confirm ferrous status, and Confirmation of actual weapon type/brand and based on all inputs and if invalid, the user will be prompted to remove from unit.


The system consist of the units being networked for operations, safety, retrieval and maintenance. The units will be networked to a control center to maintain control, monitor use and coordinate agency related issues.

User interface is touch screen with simple touch keys to create ease of use. The unit also will have speech to guide users and provide impaired users with added comfort.

Rewards will be approximately $50 USD and can be sponsored or provided by agency in charge. Based on physical gun based buy-back programs the current set amount seems appropriate and creates an effect rate of weapon recycling. Rewards will dispensed through industry stand card writer with hopper. Cards will be anonymous to user with no logo. Agency may track some ID cards if so deemed necessary. In addition, a receipt will be printed so user will have record of transaction in case of any issues with reward or recycle.
